The Signals API: read your algorithmic trades from your own code (Pro)

How to generate your API key, what the Signals API returns, which plan includes it, rate limits, error codes, and what you may and may not do with the feed.

The Signals API lets you read the same algorithmic trades the dashboard shows from your own code: one GET request, JSON out. It is included with the Pro plan. The full technical reference (parameters, fields, status codes) is at https://trendtrader.pro/api/.

Which plan includes the API?

The API is included in Pro at no extra cost. There is no separate API plan and no usage fee. Calls from a Core account are refused with a 403 until the subscription is upgraded to Pro. Revoking a key works on any plan.

How do I get my API key?

  1. Log in to the app and open API in the left menu, or go to https://app.trendtrader.pro/api.

  2. Click Generate key (the button reads Generate new key when you already have one).

  3. Copy the key straight away. It is shown only once.

Your key starts with ttp_live_. We store only a hash of it, so we cannot show it again later.

I lost my key. Can you send it to me?

No. We never see the full key after it is created, so a lost key cannot be recovered, only replaced. Open the API page and click Generate new key; the new key replaces the old one immediately.

How do I revoke a key?

Open the API page, click Revoke, then confirm. The key stops working as soon as you confirm. Generating a new key also revokes the previous one, because each account can have at most one live key.

What does the API return?

One request returns the current daily trend and the latest intraday flip for every market we cover, or only the markets you name with the symbol parameter (up to 50). Each row carries:

  • symbol and asset_class (Forex, Crypto, Stocks, ETFs, Indices or Commodities)

  • state: buy, sell, between (the dashboard's Between Zones row) or awaiting (no algorithmic trade for that market yet)

  • trend_age_days (daily rows): the number shown beside the daily row in the dashboard

  • fired_at: the date the current daily trend fired, or the exact time of the intraday flip. Daily between and awaiting rows carry no trade: fired_at is null and trend_age_days is 0

Every response also includes the educational disclaimer. The API gives you data; it does not tell you what to trade.

How do I call it?

Send a GET request to https://app.trendtrader.pro/api/v1/signals with your key in the request's authorization header as a bearer token. The exact header and ready-to-paste examples are on https://trendtrader.pro/api/.

Two optional parameters: symbol (comma-separated list, up to 50, for example EUR/USD,BTC/USD,AAPL) and since (a date such as 2026-10-08, or a datetime with a zone). Omit both for the whole feed.

How often should I call it?

Daily trades are detected hours after the daily bar closes, so one call a day with a one-day since overlap keeps you current. Intraday flips arrive through the session, so poll every 60 seconds or slower.

  • The unfiltered feed is cached at our edge for 60 seconds; calling faster returns the same data.

  • The limit is 20 requests per minute per IP address. Past it the API answers 429 for 10 minutes; the Retry-After header tells you how long to wait.

  • The feed is each market's current state, not an event log. If you want a history, store each pull yourself.

What do the error codes mean?

  • 400: invalid symbol or since value. Check the request parameters.

  • 401: the key is missing, malformed, unknown or revoked. Check the authorization header first; if the key was lost or revoked, generate a new one.

  • 403: the account has no active Pro subscription.

  • 404: wrong hostname. The API answers on app.trendtrader.pro only.

  • 429: rate limit exceeded (20 requests per minute per IP). Wait the seconds given in Retry-After.

  • 500 or 503: a brief problem on our side. Retry with backoff.

Can I share, resell or publish the feed?

No. The feed is for your own trading decisions and your own tools. Reselling, rebroadcasting or publishing it is not permitted under the Terms of Service (https://trendtrader.pro/legal/terms-of-service/). Keep your key server-side; never put it in a browser, a mobile app or a public repository.

Is the API data different from the dashboard?

No. It is the same feed the platform runs on, translated to JSON. The in-app intraday feed additionally hides markets with no fresh intraday data; the API returns the most recent intraday flip on record for every market, with its real fired_at.
