Chart basics — timeframes, candles, and navigation

How to use the TrendTrader Pro chart, switch between the 8 candle timeframes, and read the countdown badge and live price line.

Written by TrendTrader Pro Team

Every symbol in TrendTrader Pro opens on a full candlestick chart with live prices and your signal markers anchored right on the candles.

Timeframes

The chart offers 8 candle timeframes: 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month. Switch between them with the timeframe selector above the chart.

All subscribers get every candle timeframe. Your plan gates which signals you receive (intraday signals are a Pro feature), never the chart resolution — a Core subscriber can view 1-minute candles just like a Pro subscriber.

The Daily tab opens on the 1-hour chart by default and the Intraday tab on the 1-minute chart; the app remembers the last timeframe you used per tab.

Reading the chart

  • Candles — standard green-up / red-down candlesticks showing open, high, low, and close.

  • Last-price line — a dashed horizontal line at the current price. It colors green on an uptick and red on a downtick, so you can see momentum at a glance.

  • Candle-close countdown — a small timer directly under the last-price label on the price axis, TradingView-style, counting down until the current candle closes. On daily and longer timeframes it shows days and hours. When no candle is currently forming (market closed for the session or over a weekend), the countdown hides.

  • Crosshair — hover anywhere to read exact price and time at the cursor.

  • Signal markers — your signals are pinned to the exact candle where each fired — the current one bright, earlier ones dimmed as history. See the Signals collection for how to read them.

Navigating

  • Pan — click and drag (or swipe on mobile) to move through history.

  • Zoom — scroll or pinch to zoom in and out.

  • New symbols open showing recent history with your current signal's fire candle in view.

Precision

The price axis automatically adjusts its decimal places per market — a 5-decimal forex pair, a fraction-of-a-cent altcoin, and a $500 stock all render with the right precision.
