TrendTrader Pro combines live streaming prices with scheduled refreshes so the chart you're watching is always current.
Live price streaming
While you have a symbol open, its price streams to your chart in real time. Each tick updates the forming candle and moves the dashed last-price line, which colors green on an uptick and red on a downtick.
Streaming is per-symbol: the symbol you're actively viewing receives live ticks. When you switch symbols, the new one starts streaming immediately.
Candle refreshes
The full candle series refreshes automatically about every 60 seconds. This keeps the historical series aligned with our market-data providers even if your connection briefly drops a tick. You never need to reload the page to stay current.
If you're mid-drag when a refresh lands, the chart waits until you let go before applying it — your pan and zoom are never yanked out from under you.
Signal updates are on their own schedule
Prices and signals update independently:
Daily signals refresh once per day, after the daily scan completes.
Intraday signals (Pro) update throughout the trading session, typically within minutes of a new signal firing.
So it's normal to see prices moving live while your signal stays the same — a signal only changes when the Trend Engine detects a genuine flip, not on every tick. See When signals update for the exact schedule.
When markets are closed
When a market's trading session is closed (weekends for forex, outside exchange hours for stocks), no new candle forms, so live updates naturally pause and the candle-close countdown hides. Crypto trades 24/7 and streams around the clock. See Market hours and the Market closed indicator.
If prices look stale
First check whether the market is simply closed. If a market is open and the chart still isn't moving, refresh the page. If it persists, message us through the in-app support widget — see Chart troubleshooting.
