How TrendTrader Pro signals work

What powers a BUY or SELL signal — the trend-detection algorithm and the AI confirmation layer explained.

Written by TrendTrader Pro Team

TrendTrader Pro is a signals platform: it tells you which direction the trend is pointing across 500+ markets, and you decide what to do with that information in your own broker account. Here is what actually happens before a signal reaches your screen.

The trend-detection algorithm

At the core of TrendTrader Pro is a proprietary trend-detection algorithm that continuously scans price action across every market we cover — forex, crypto, stocks, indices, ETFs, and commodities. The algorithm is looking for one specific event: the moment the criteria for a brand-new established trend are met.

When those criteria are met, the algorithm fires a signal:

  • BUY — a new established uptrend has been detected.

  • SELL — a new established downtrend has been detected.

A signal is not a prediction that price will move immediately. It is a statement that, by the algorithm's criteria, a new trend has formed and is now the prevailing direction for that market.

The AI confirmation layer

On top of the trend-detection algorithm sits an independent AI confirmation layer. For each signal, the AI performs its own technical and fundamental read of the market and flags where that independent read agrees with the signal's direction.

The two systems are deliberately separate: the algorithm detects the trend, and the AI gives you a second, independent opinion on it. When you see a confirmed signal, it means both agreed. The AI read is also shown alongside the signal so you can see the reasoning in plain language.

What signals are — and are not

  • Signals are directional: BUY or SELL, with the AI read attached. They are not trade instructions, position sizes, or entry/exit prices.

  • TrendTrader Pro does not execute trades. There is no broker connection. You act on signals wherever you already trade — TradingView, MetaTrader, Binance, Coinbase, IBKR, OANDA, and so on.

  • Signals work as a standalone approach or as confirmation for your existing strategy. Both are common among our members; it comes down to your goals and your risk management.

Measured, not promised

We publish exactly how these signals have performed. The 2026 Performance Report covers over 4,000,000 measured signal outcomes with per-asset-class win rates, expected values, full methodology, and honest limitations — including the classes that showed no edge. You can read it at trendtrader.pro/performance-report-2026.

As always: past performance does not guarantee future results, and no signal removes the need for sound risk management.
